Meet the Teacher Night for the 2011-2012 School Year

Welcome to 1st grade! I hope you are very excited about your first grade year because we have so much to learn. I love to read and write. We are going to be reading each and every day, as well as learning to be real authors who publish real stories. I really love to do math too. I hope you're ready to become a mathematician because we are going to be problem solving and working on math every day! I can't wait to meet you. Remember, Meet the Teacher Night is Friday, August 19th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Please bring your supplies labeled and be ready to sort them while your parents complete some paperwork.

Parents, please make sure the following supplies are labeled with your child's name:
1 - 5" blunt Fiskar's scissors

1 - 24 count crayons (Crayola preferred)

1 Jumbo glue stick

1 - 8 count Classic thin markers (Crayola preferred)

1 - Plastic 8 x 5 school box

1- pink beveled eraser

We are bringing home our Tuesday folders. Please look through them and empty out all of the papers. Tomorrow we can bring back our library books a day early. We will have library day on Thursday.

"What was one thing that I learned about today?"

Danny learned 5x5=25.

Brian learned about sorting.

Jeremiah learned about sorting.

Miyah learned how to sort blocks by color.

Max learned about area.

Riley learned if you put a red towel in the white towels, some of the red will get on the white.

Kendall learned that 1x6=6.

Alyssa learned that 5x5=25.

Conner learned that if you put a red towel and a white towel in the washing machine whenever the wash is done, the colors will show up on the other colored towel.

Melanie learned there is different ways to sort.

Nyla learned about sorting.

Jayda learned about sorting.

Walker learned how to sort stuffed animals.

Madi learned about sorting into groups.

Tomorrow is Tuesday. We will get our Tuesday folders. Please look through our folders and return them empty on Wednesday.
